Dry coal processing provides an alternative and sometimes even the only choice for some extremely cold and arid areas with an abundance of coal reserves. Water resources, the most deficit resource in this kind of area, can be saved because no water is needed in dry coal processing. Below is a picture showing one FGX dry prep plant at China's Xinjiang Mining Group which is located in a water-scarce area in Western China. There are several FGX dry prep plants in the country of Ukraine where temperatures become extremely low during winter. This usually is a headache for wet coal prep plants that depend on enormous amount of water to keep their operations alive.
